Friendly Dolphins Imitate Sleepy Sloth When They Meet In A Closed Aquarium, See Pics

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, most aquariums are devoid of visitors. They are closed to the public and mostly empty except for the staff that still comes to work as usual to take care of the animals. And sometimes, they let some of them out of their enclosures and take them on adventures.

Earlier, penguins were taken to meet the fishes, puppies were given free rein to run around and make new friends and now, a playdate has been arranged between a sloth named Chico and two dolphins named Liko and Schooner courtesy of the Texas State Aquarium, reports NDTV.

An aquarium official was quoted saying,

“As some of our most popular animals, it seemed an obvious choice for our sloths and dolphins to get a chance to see each other while we were temporarily closed. We have another sloth, Xena, but on that day, she was more interested in sleeping than meeting the dolphins! Our dolphins have had the opportunity to meet several other animals over the years, including baby gators, an African serval, a red-tailed boa and others. They’re almost always very curious about the other Aquarium residents.”

While Chico was mostly sleeping upside down during the playdate, Liko went ahead and adorably emulated his posture. Check it out.
