He Helped Stop A Child’s Kidnapping. Next Thing He Knows, He Is Fired From His Job.

Dillion-Reagan

I have heard that good things come to those who wait. But never have I ever heard that those who wait for appreciation – get pink slips instead.

Dillon Reagan, a 32-year-old from Portland, Oregon worked his honest job at Home Depot. But he got fired from his job instead of getting a promotion for his heroic actions.

Dillion was finishing his shift on May 12, when he heard his co-worker shouting for help. He went out to see that a drunk, violent man was assaulting a woman and taking away her child. “Somebody help me please! He’s stealing my kid,” said the distressed woman. Dillion said –

“At the time, the only thing I was thinking about was the child’s safety.”

So he and his co-worker contacted the police at that very moment. The cops asked them to follow the man from a safe distance till the time they reach the location. Both the brave men did as they were told.

Their heroic actions saved the kid and his mother from danger and police arrested the culprit on the spot.

Next day when Dillion reached his workplace, his supervising manager scolded him for leaving the depot unattended for a good 10 minutes. This is what the manager said to him –

“You did the wrong thing. You should have just gone back to work.”

On June 19, he received a letter saying that he has been fired. He wrote a Facebook post about what happened.

The Friday before Mother’s Day, I was involved in a kidnapping attempt at my place of work.

A woman had been assaulted and her child had been abducted by a drunk, violent man who was making a quick exit with the child in his arms.

My co-worker and I called the police and followed their directions to follow at a distance to make sure they could find them when the squad care arrived on scene.

Because of the actions of my co-worker and myself, that child was rescued from his abductor and the man was arrested on the spot.

Today, Home Depot terminated my employment.

I was fired for stopping a kidnapper from successfully abducting a child.

He also posted the picture of the letter that cited the reason of the firing as, “you assisted the police in preventing a kidnapping.” For REAL! Have a look at it yourself.

People of the internet are as shocked as you are. They have been reaching out to Dillion. They can’t help but be angry at the whole situation.

1. That’s right.

2. Couldn’t have said it better!

3. Medal it should be.

Now Home Depot has called him back, but he is not willing to resume his job. Dillion has been working there for 4 years and despite valuing him as an employee or appreciating him for saving lives, they fired him for a bizarre reason.

Seriously, if we don’t go out of our way to help people in need then who will? Karma will serve you right, Dillion. Good things are on your way.
