“An Actor Should Have The Courage To Take On More Challenging Work,” Says Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone has just reached bay after a much talked-about appearance at the MTV European Music Awards 2016. Sure, her outfit for the awards raised a few eyebrows but her action-loaded performance peak in the ‘xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage‘ is too hot to handle! The actress has also been lauded for her immaculate ability to pull off some kick-ass stunts on screen.

In a recent interview, Deepika has opened up about how much work it took her to get it right. She has also had an action team and physical trainer handy to ensure that that she is always fit at her game.

“I am glad that the action has turned out so well. It’s been a tough journey, but it is a satisfying feeling.”

Bollywood’s favourite leading lady who will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavati’ also said that she is always on a lookout for challenges in the characters she plays. 

“I have taken on more challenges than this. An actor should have the courage to take on even more challenging work.”

Deepika also cleared the air on why she didn’t bother to pick up an American accent unlike her contemporary Priyanka Chopra, because she wanted to play an Indian girl in the film. 

“But it also depends on the role that I do. You can’t generalise.

Tomorrow, I may do a film which may require me to play an Indian-American, so there, an accent may be required.”
