Deepika Padukone, one of the most popular leading ladies in B-town has always been vocal about depression. Ever since she opened up about her ordeal with depression, Deepika time and again comes forward to spread awareness about mental health.

Salman’s take on depression did not go well with the Padmaavat actress and so she hit back at the actor during a recent interview, reports News 18.

Taking a dig at Salman, Deepika said:

“People confuse depression with being a bit sad. A male star said recently that he didn’t have the luxury to be depressed. As if depression is a choice!”

Talking about her own experience of depression Deepika said, “The word that best describes my experience of depression is a struggle. Every second was a struggle. I felt exhausted the whole time.”

On the work front, Deepika is prepping up for her upcoming film Chhapaak, where she will be seen portraying the role of real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal.

Let’s wait and watch what Salman has to say about Deepika’s counter! We believe, no matter what, people should choose their words wisely and never make light of a grave concern like mental health.
