No matter how much some people pretend to be strong and unemotional, the moment when they part ways with their parents or their kids always opens the floodgates.
Some dads try to hide their tears behind their straight faces and ‘han theek hai’ attitude. But this dad couldn’t hold back his tears when his little girl was finally flying away from their abode to her dream destination.
Taking to Instagram, a girl named Preksha shared a Reel of her parents getting overwhelmed when they came to drop her off at Miranda House College in Delhi.
On her first day when the three of them were exploring the campus of the college, her dad suddenly became emotional and tears rolled down his eyes.
“They were dropping me off at ‘our’ dream destination Miranda House College, Delhi University. It was my first day so we were just exploring the campus and suddenly I noticed tears rolling down my father’s eyes,” Preksha captioned the reel.
She went on to divulge that her dad was overwhelmed with happiness and was on another emotional level. Seeing the pride and love in her parent’s eyes, the girl was at peace that her hard work paid off.
“The fact that his jigar ka tukda will be living far away from him was a bitter truth too. But those tears told me that all the sacrifices I made, all the hard work I did, each and everything I did to achieve this dream was all worth it in the end. All I can say is I can do anything to see your smiley faces and sparkling eyes! Thankyou mumma papa. I love you,” she added. (sic)

Preksha must be having this bitter-sweet feeling of making her dad weep knowing that he is immensely proud of her and that it’s khushi k tears that he’s shedding. You go, girl!
