Road accidents are not uncommon, unfortunately. Most of us have had the displeasure of witnessing the collision of two vehicles at some point in our lives. However, it is not often that we see them happen in the air or at sea, outside of movies.
But recently at a port in Cozumel, Mexico, two cruise ships crashed into one another, reports CNN. The 952-feet-long ‘Carnival Glory’ was attempting to dock when it hit the stationary ‘Carnival Legend’ and dragged its stern for 20 seconds damaging it in the process. Several onlookers captured it on video and shared it on social media.

According to The Independent, 6 guests sustained minor injuries in the collision. Both ships are owned by Carnival Cruises that issued a statement saying,
“We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship.”
The footage terrified a lot of people but a few Twitter users reacted to the accident with their trademark sense of humour and poked fun at the Captain’s ‘driving’ skills.

We’re glad that no one suffered a serious injury and hope that the company looks into the cause of the collision and takes adequate steps to ensure it doesn’t repeat in the future.
