CRPF jawan Om Prakash Mardania of Shahpur village in Sehore martyred in a terror attack at a camp in Srinagar in 2013. He was left behind with his grieving wife, Komal Bai and their two children.

Recently, a man disguised as a CRPF jawan visited Komal at her residence. He told the woman that he belongs to the security forces and has come to visit her home to check on the well being of her family as a part of their routine.

The man, who identified himself as Mishri Lal Meena told Komal that CRPF will send her Rs 34 Lakh of compensation for her husband’s death. But prior to this, she needs to return the earlier paid compensation of Rs 8.5 Lakh back. Accordingly, Komal along with the accused withdrew the amount from the bank and handed over it to him. As reported by TOI, the man, later on, fled away with the money.

A complaint has been registered against the man and investigation is under work.

Such thick-skinned frauds who do not think twice before targeting the widows of our soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the sake of our country’s peace and security should not be spared. We hope the police soon finds the culprit and gives him a lesson for life.
