Meet The Chennai Doctors Who Helped A Deer With Fractured Leg Get Back Up On Its Feet

At the junction of humanity and the wilderness, there exists a group of unsung heroes – kindhearted veterinarians who extend their healing hands to animals when they are hurt. Whether it’s a bird or a dog, they use their skills to make them get back up. They fix broken wings, heal hurt paws, and take away the pain from animals who can’t say thank you. These vets really care, not just about fixing problems, but about making sure every little animal gets a chance to be happy in the wild again.

Similarly, a deer with a fractured leg in Chennai found solace in the care of a team of doctors led by Dr Sridhar at the advanced facility at Vandalur Zoo. The deer was rescued by volunteers at the Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary and was operated on by the doctors under general anaesthesia.

The fracture was fixed with external skeletal fixators with clamps and screws. The deer is now able to walk again.
