One of the most affected things during COVID-19 lockdown around the world is weddings! Most of the countries have banned social gatherings that consist of more than five people, and it’s certainly impossible to hold a wedding with so few people. Because a wedding ain’t fun without guests.

So, some couples are postponing their D-day, but some others are doing it on a video call to avoid travel and gatherings. Then there are a few others who are coming up with super creative solutions, just like Amy Simonson and Dan Stuglik from Michigan.

The couple is set to tie the knot on April 4, reports News 18. But thanks to the COVID-19 lockdown, none of their relatives and guests could make it to their wedding. So, they decided to replace guests with cardboard cutouts of different shapes, sizes, and gender.

Just like wedding crowd consists of people with different hairstyles, figure, and height, the cutouts consists of a different variety to make the guest look realistic.

“Stuglik was just looking for a general person shape, but I was able to make a little bit more realistic audience for them,” Ted Harris, customer service and design manager at Menasha said.

“I didn’t like the idea of Amy having to walk down the aisle with no one in the pews, that seemed like a very lonely walk, so I wanted something to represent the guests,” Stuglik told NY Post.

“I went to just buy a few sheets of cardboard and they went in and brought a designer and made some,” he said.

“I wanted to do something (creative) so she wouldn’t walk down the aisle to an empty church. That was a painful part, that her wedding was being stripped away from her, but Menasha helped bring a little back,” he added.

The lockdown is surely making people get extra creative. What are your views on the couple’s out-of-the-box idea? Tell us.
