Those who drive vehicles are extremely careful and cautious because road accidents not only endanger those in two-wheelers and four-wheelers but also pedestrians. Which is why violations like speeding, jumping red lights, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol are liable to hefty penalties and punishment. Recently though, in a lucky turn of events, a car crash actually managed to save the life of a couple and their baby. Here’s what happened.
According to NDTV, the incident took place in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 14 around 10:10 pm. A couple was crossing the street with a baby in a stroller at 53rd Avenue when a Jeep driven by 28-year-old Ernesto Otanez Oveso jumped a red light and came at them with great speed.
But before they were hit, 27-year-old Shannon Vivar’s Chevrolet Cruz crashed into the Jeep saving them in the nick of time. Check out the video shared by the Phoenix Police Department.

The police later apprehended the offender and booked him on 3 charges: DUI, aggravated assault and prohibited possession of a gun. And the woman who saved the day was hailed as an angel and “hero in the Cruz”. She suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The cops also held a briefing where more details of the case were made public. Shannon was accompanied by her mother Shirley and her 3-year-old son when the accident took place. The drunk driver was also with a female companion but after the collision, they drove off and the woman could not be located.
