US Boy Throws Message In Bottle At Sea, Gets Reply After 9 Years From France

Are you someone who totally digs the idea of throwing a bottle containing a message in the ocean and hope that someday a person will actually find it and reach out to you? While the chances of this happening may be negligible, it came true for one guy.

According to a report by News18, an American guy had thrown a bottle containing a message into the sea in Massachusetts back in 2010 when he was just 10 years old. 9 years later, someone actually found the bottle somewhere in France and wrote him back!

Back in 2010, the guy, Max Vredenburgh, had written an adorable little note saying, “Whoever is reading this letter, please write back.”

He also mentioned a few details about himself like his age, that he likes eating apples, and that he likes the beach, animals, and the colour blue. 9 years later, someone wrote back to him saying how he found his letter on October 10, 2019, on a beach in France.

“According to your date…it will have taken 9 years to cover the 6,000 km that separates us.”

The letter also contained a map of France and an arrow pointing out where exactly the bottle was found – between Contis and Mimizan.

Max took to Twitter to post pictures of the letters and said that he was mind blown!

As his tweet went viral, the guy who found his bottle was able to trace Max and got in touch with him! Ah, the power of the internet.

People on Twitter are excited as ever to see before their eyes a miracle coming true!

Speaking to CBS, Max said:

“When I first read his letter, my heart, my stomach just dropped. I was like, ‘Oh my God. My 10-year-old wish just came true. This is insane’. This kind of made me reflect back on who I used to be.”

The only time I saw the ‘message in a bottle’ thing come true was in the film Anjaana Anjaani! It is surreal to see how people in this world are connected by a force greater than themselves.

However, it is to be kept in mind that throwing bottles into the sea is harmful for the environment. It’s better to not get swayed by a romantic idea at the cost of the ocean.
