Last month, customs officials at Delhi’s IGI airport arrested a man for trying to smuggle gold bars by hiding them inside his rectum. And just when we thought things couldn’t get any more bizarre, an incident that happened in China rendered us speechless.
According to Mail Online, Mr. Wen, a 60-year-old man visited the Dongguan Hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine in southern China’s Guangdong Province because a foreign object had accidentally gotten stuck in his rectum and was causing him difficulty while walking.
According to The Sun, Dr. Lin Jun, director of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery examined him and found that it was a 7-inch long and 2-inch wide glass bottle with the help of an x-ray. The bottle previously contained a traditional Chinese mosquito repellent and itch soother.
Mr. Wen had to undergo surgery and the bottle was successfully removed. When asked how the bottle came to be stuck 2 inches from his anus, he replied that he was trying to scratch an itch with it.
He has been discharged from the hospital but what a scary experience! We hope that he’ll be more careful in the future.
