Bollywood Producers In Race To Claim Film Titles Like ‘Pulwama’, ‘Balakot’, ‘Abhinandan’

After the tremendous success of Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri which was based on the surgical strike of 2016, Bollywood producers are rushing to fix their chance of capitalizing on the recent Pulwama attack. The horrifying terror attack which claimed the life of 40 CRPF soldiers on February 14 was avenged with a mid-night airstrike by India 12 days later.

Indian Air Force laid around 300 Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists to death in Balakot at PoK. Following this incident, the Pakistan Air Force retaliated the attack by violating the Line of Control, capturing one of IAF pilots after a MiG-21 jet crashed down in Pak.

Hence, giving Bollywood several different stories of patriotism to cash upon! To name some:

  1.  The horrendous Pulwama terror attack.
  2. Life story of CRPF soldiers martyred in the attack.
  3. Airstrike of Indian Force on PoK which is popularly termed as Surgical Strike 2.0 by the Indians.
  4. Wing Commander Abhinandan, who was held captive in Pakistan.

Naturally, Bollywood produces took no time to cramp up the office of Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association (IMMPA) at Andheri in Western Mumbai to reserve the ultranationalist movie titles, reported HuffPost India. At least five different production companies fought to claim the title like Pulwama, Surgical Strike 2.0, Balakot, Abhinandan etc.

HuffPost also reported that following the Pulwama attacks on 14th February, titles like Pulwama: The Surgical Strike, War Room, Hindustan Hamara Hai, Pulwama Terror Attack, The Attacks of Pulwama, With Love, From India, and ATS – One Man Show have already been registered.

Abundantia and T Series have already taken home some of the titles claimed the report. All we need to do to register a film title is fill a form with 4-5 alternative titles. And, pay a sum Rs 250 with 18% GST and that’s all!

Low budget production houses register such popular and in-demand film titles. They, later on, sell to high budget production houses that afford to buy it at lump sum cost.
