If you were active on social media yesterday, you must have come across the video of a beggar on board a Karachi to Bangkok flight. The man was dressed in ragged clothes and was believed to be a Pakistani national by the netizens on Twitter, while some news channels highlighted him as an Iranian national too.

In the video, we could the see the man being questioned by the flight attendants as a part of their frequent checks. Maintaining the conduct of the flight, the man was seen answering them back in a dignified manner.

Danyal Gilani, a Pakistani bureaucrat, took to Twitter to shed light on the matter. In his post, he confirmed that the video has been taken on a Doha-Shiraz flight. The so-called beggar is an Iranian deportee, traveling on a Qatar Airways flight, who was asking for help from the passengers because he was deported without any money.

He also revealed that the man was speaking Farsi and the lady who made the video was also talking in the same language.

The explanation seems a completely legit one as the video shows the passengers handing the man some money when he asked for help with a plastic pouch in his hand. The flight crew was seen requesting the man to go back to his seat in what seemed as security checks.
