We’ve seen couples profess their eternal love for one another while climbing rocks, or under the surreal northern lights or better yet, writing letters for 2 years straight to make for a breathtaking proposal.
But where am IÂ heading with this? While we have heard a plenty of stories of applause-worthy and romantic proposals, I bet you have never heard of something like this.
Oklahoma resident, Brandon Thompson, who is charged with 6 felonies proposed his long time girlfriend, Leandria Keith, right before going to jail. It was his birthday on July 4 and he had planned everything, not expecting to be arrested. He requested the officers to grant him permission to propose.
Needless to say Keith said YES to the proposal. She will be waiting for him to get out of the jail so that they can get married!
An officer’s body camera recorded the whole event and it looked like a perfect plot of a movie. While Brandon was struggled to put the ring on Leandria’s finger with his hands handcuffed at the back, officer helped him and handcuffed them in the front. Brandon said –
“I didn’t want to part ways with her not showing exactly how I feel for her. I want her to be my wife for the rest of my life.”
The officers like to believe that maybe after the proposal, Brandon will have a change of heart. They gave him a chance to propose so that when he gets out of the jail, he might want to give his future wife and kids a better life. Leandria spoke about her feeling and said,
“Amazing, very amazing. It feels great. I know that he loves me and I love him and we can get through anything together.”
We hope Brandon and Leandria get to live their dream of a happy life together. Love can change you and we can only hope that Brandon changes for good sets an admirable example.
