Bajrang Dal Forces Hyderabad Couple Celebrating Valentine’s Day To Get Married, Films Entire Incident

Valentine’s day. All of us have our own way of celebrating it. Some people text their crushes and ask them out on a date, others share funny memes about being single AF. And a few take a vow to never get married without their parents’ consent.

Each one to his (or her) own, right? Or in the case of Bajrang Dal, maybe not. Unless you live under a rock, you probably know what they feel about V-day. In case you don’t, hear it directly from the horse’s mouth. The News Minute quotes Subash Chandra, the State Convener for Bajrang Dal in Telangana saying that 30 teams will be deployed to protest and scout couples throughout the state.

“We will take out bike rallies, we will burn effigies in the street. We will make the couples call their parents and tell them what their children are up to.”

Earlier today, a group of activists found a couple in Kandlakoya Oxygen Park, Hyderabad. They made the man tie a mangalsutra around the woman’s neck and pronounced them married. The entire incident was filmed and shared to deter other couples from ‘celebrating’.

According to a report by Times Now, police authorities have taken the activists in preventive custody. But no complaint has been lodged because the couple in question ‘agreed’ to the marriage.
