Creators Of The Original ‘Masakali’ React To The Recreated Version By Tanishk Bagchi

Yesterday, the Masakali 2.0 song featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria was released. Produced by T-Series, the remake has music by Tanishk Bagchi and is sung by Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon, reports Hindustan Times.

The actors’ looks are reminiscent of their 2019 film ‘Marjaavaan’ and the set has a striking resemblance to the one in the Humma remix in the 2017 film ‘Ok Jaanu’. Take a look.

A lot of fans are in agreement that the trend of tampering with classic Bollywood numbers needs to end. Many have criticized the remake for its lack of creativity, shallow lyrics and cringe-worthy video.

According to NDTV, A.R. Rahman, the composer of the original ‘Masakali’ from 2009 film ‘Delhi 6’ starring Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor has reacted to the recreated version by urging music enthusiasts to enjoy the original.

Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, lyricist (and creator of the word ‘Masakali’) Prasoon Joshi, and singer Mohit Chauhan who teamed up to create the original song have also spoken up against the remix on Twitter.

Here is how everyone reacted to the music maestro’s tweet.

Do you think that the original has been butchered or did you enjoy the new beats? Tell us.
