“My Wife Is Not My Slave,” Anurag Kashyap Schools Troll Who Mocked His Unsuccessful Marriages

Anurag Kashyap has never shied away from voicing his opinions on social media. Be it warning his old friend Kangana or engaging in a twitter feud about hypocrisy in B-town with Ranvir Shorey, the filmmaker never minces his words. However, his honest thoughts sometimes receive severe backlash or trolling too.

Speaking of which, the ‘Dev.D’ director recently schooled a troll who took a dig at his ‘unsuccessful marriages’ and questioned his bank of knowledge. The person said that since Anurag couldn’t handle his personal life, he had no right to preach others, reports HT. He was previously married to film editor Aarti Bajaj and then actor Kalki Koechlin, reports Mumbai Mirror. Replying to one of Anurag’s tweets, the user had written, “You could not handle one wife, yet you are trying to impart knowledge,” in Hindi.

However, Anurag told the troll that women don’t need to be handled, they can handle and take care of themselves. He wrote, “Women do not need to be handled, they can handle themselves as well as you and your entire family. When it did not work out between us, she left. She was not some slave that I would keep her tied up. So, how are things with you?”

Some time back, the director had also responded to a seemingly backhanded compliment by a fan. Well, while giving your opinion about anything is okay, attacking a person’s personal life while doing so is unacceptable. What do you think? Tell us!
