“I Feel Completely Responsible For Ranbir’s Failure,” Anurag Kashyap Confesses!

Ranbir Kapoor comes from a long line of fine actors, an entire family going back to the legendary Prithviraj Kapoor. But, like all actors, the young RK has also made some not-so-good career choices which have bombed at the box office.

Two of those movies were Besharam and Bombay Velvet, by Anurag Kashyap.

In a recent interview, Kashyap opened up about how he has let Ranbir Kapoor down and his choice of getting him on as the lead for his films led to a dip in his career.

“He wanted to experiment which not many stars would want to do. And we failed him terribly. I feel completely responsible for this.”

Kashyap also went on to say that he feels partially responsible whenever he hears of studios shutting, and there’s a poster of Bombay Velvet up there. Although this hasn’t affected their camaraderie and that Ranbir is actually looking forward to working with him again.

Kashyap is relieved that Ranbir can actually laugh it off after two flop films, and he has expressed his wish to work with him after his schedule clears.
