Ankita Lokhande kicked off her journey in the entertainment industry with popular daily soap ‘Pavitra Rishta’. She charmed her way into millions of hearts with her stint as the girl next door, Archana in the show and eventually became one of the most popular television stars of all time.
Though she took a break from the industry after Pavitra Rishta, she did not really move away from the limelight. Be it her romance with co-star Sushant Singh Rajput or her alleged alcoholism, Ankita Lokhande managed to make headlines time and again. Maybe this is why she says, “I never felt the need to be seen constantly. I’ve always been controversial, so I was always around.”
She further told Mumbai Mirror, “And if you have talent, you are not worried about anything. It eventually paid off.” Ankita made her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika last year. After garnering immense praise for her debut, Ankita is now prepping up for her next Bollywood outing, Baaghi 3.
She will be seen portraying the role of Ruchi, Shraddha Kapoor’s character in the film. Talking about the same she said, “She is really fun and a good sister. Moreover, people haven’t seen me in roles closer to my real age before.”
Ankita has been paired opposite Riteish Deshmukh who plays Tiger Shroff’s on-screen brother in the film. “I am paired opposite Riteish (Deshmukh). Yes, Shraddha (Kapoor) and Tiger are in the film, too. But I am just a character and have my own content to perform,” she said.
Ankita also said now that she has done a commercial film, she feels complete. Ankita also opened up about her bond with Baaghi 3’s director Ahmed Khan who was also the judge on a reality show that Ankita was a part of years back. “He is so easy-going, he made the film better for me. He hasn’t changed at all in 16 years,” she said.
Ankita who keeps her fans entertained with lovey-dovey pictures of alleged beau Vicky Jain opens up about their relationship and said, “You will get to know.”
