Brazil Bleeds As Amazon Rain Forest Loses A Whopping 740 Sq Km Forest Cover In Just 30 Days!

Climate change, global warming, acid rain, ozone layer depletion are already wreaking havoc on mankind. All thanks to humans and their greedy exploitation of mother nature! Greenhouse gases, deforestation, and pollution of every kind is leading the Earth towards extinction.

Many countries around the world have also, fortunately, realized the need for keeping a check on such environmental issues. They have joined hands, formed associations to curb the growing environmental crisis. But the country that has been hitting headlines for severe deforestation since years is Brazil!

Ever since President Jair Bolsonaro took the office in Brazil in January 2019, he has been in the news as activists claim that Bolsonaro wants to massacre Brazil’s diversity – sexual, gender, cultural, racial, and biological.

Proving all of it right, the president has accelerated deforestation of Amazon forest since a couple of months. So much so that the rain forest which is popularly known as the ‘lungs of the Earth’ has lost 740 sq km forest cover in just 1 month! Satellite images have found that the deforestation of World’s largest rain forest has rapidly increased in May, reports CGTN America.

Ecologists claim that Bolsonaro in his five months of government has accelerated deforestation granting land for illegal farming, mining, and construction. He is turning the Amazon into a huge soya field and killing all the diversity, claim the environmentalists.

And, the recent data released by satellite images stand proof to all the claims. The rapid deforestation of the Amazon forest which is responsible for absorbing around 25% of world’s carbon-di-oxide has come as a shock to the entire world.

We hope the UN soon intervenes and saves our largest rain forest, which is a boon to mankind!
