‘Every dark cloud has a silver lining’
So, while COVID-19 has severely impacted humans all around the globe, mother nature has seemingly benefitted from the disruption. With improved air quality and a tremendous decrease in pollution levels, the slowdown in human activity has surely helped our planet heal.
In just 11 days since the 21-day lockdown in India, peacocks were seen roaming around the streets of Mumbai and Delhi’s air quality improved drastically. Recently, another positive impact of the quarantine was witnessed by residents of Jalandhar in Punjab.
According to the Hindustan Times, people of Jalandhar could see the Dhauladhar mountain range, which is part of the Himalayan chain in Himachal Pradesh due to clearer skies. Residents laid eyes on the snow-capped Himalayan range, situated almost 200 km away from their city, from their rooftops, reports India Today.
Have a look at a mesmerizing video shared by twitter user @thataviator:

With factories closed and almost no traffic on the roads, the air quality index drastically improved giving residents an unprecedented view of the mountains.
Many people including former cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared images of the stunning view saying how lack of vehicles has positively impacted mother nature:
