After Scoring 99.99 Percentile In 12th, Ahmedabad Kid Renounces The World To Be A Jain Monk

When I was in class 12, I slogged the entire YEAR to pass that shit. I couldn’t wait to move on to college, where (what I thought) life would get easier. Needless to say, I did not find any respite there too. Slogged again to pass.

But this is not about me, it’s about the genius minds in our country who ace these exams and make the nation very proud!

One such wondrous boy is Varshil Shah, who aced the Gujarat State Board and scored 99.9 percentile in class 12. Hailing from Ahmedabad, Varshil made his parents very proud! While his marks were a clear indication of a lucrative career ahead, he had chosen the path to of being a Jain monk.

Yes, you heard that right. The teenager will go through a ceremony called diksha on June 8 and give up all the worldly pleasures to become a monk. Before class 12, he met a monk who helped him concentrate better. He says that helped him achieve better marks.

Varshil’s uncle, Nayanbhai Suthari said that his spiritual journey began 3 years back when he meant Surat-based Munni Shri Kalyan Ratna Vijayji. Varshil was just waiting to complete school and become a monk. He also adds –

“The result is as per expectations, but to attain and maintain peace, I think renouncing the world is the only way.”

The Shah’s are a very simple family. They don’t keep a refrigerator or a TV at their house, they only use electricity when the kids are studying. Varshil’s mother and father both work at the income-tax department and are happy with what their kid has decided for himself.

Peaceful mind always works it’s ways to perfection. Varshil’s peaceful mind and his intelligence, I am pretty sure, will help us someday in the times of distress.
