Football is not a male dominated game.
Aditi Chauhan, the Indian Women’s Team Goalkeeper got an opportunity of a lifetime as she will be playing for the top-flight English club West Ham United’s Ladies Team this season.
She became the first Indian to play in the Premier League when she came on a substitute in West Ham’s season opener in the 2015/16 FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division.
Born and brought up in Delhi, her journey began when her school coach asked her to participate in the under-19 team trials. She was selected for the India U-19 side a very early age of 17. Not only that, she was a part of the India women’s national team that won the 2012 SAFF Women’s Championship in Sri Lanka.
That’s massive for women in Indian sport, especially football.

It’s always a proud feeling to see such achievements by Indians at an international stage.
And here she has done it. Certainly, the future of women’s football in India seems to be brighter.
