Big B Gets Teary-eyed As Polish Choir Performs Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s ‘Madhushala’

Actor Amitabh Bachchan often pens his thoughts on the micro-blogging site and his personal blogs. The veteran actor and son of poet and writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan loves to play with words and he has definitely got it from his father. He is also often seen quoting the legend’s poems.

Hence, when he saw a Polish choir recreating one of his father’s popular poems, he was ‘moved to tears’, reported The Indian Express. Big B recently posted the video of a choir in the city of Wroclaw in Poland reciting Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s ‘Madhushala’.

In the video, a female choir of the university, Puellae Cantantes – Wroclaw was seen performing the poem on the roof of their university building to honour the poet and his son. The special performance was organised by the Mayor of Wroclaw. At the end of the video, the choir also had a special message for the ‘Mahanayak’.

Thanking the city of Wroclaw, Big B wrote in the captions:

“Recitation of my Babuji’s Madhushala by the students on the roof of their University building organised by the Mayor of Wroclaw. Last year the Mayor of Wroclaw declared me as the Ambassador of the City of Wroclaw, in Poland. Today they organized a recitation of my Babuji’s ‘Madhushala’ by the University students on the roof of the University building. As Wroclaw was awarded the title of a UNESCO City of Literature, they could pass on the message to Babu Ji’s lovers from all around the world – Wroclaw is a City of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Moved beyond emotion, thank you Wroclaw, in this time of my trial it brings so much cheer to me!”
