Russia Says Human Trials For COVID-19 Vaccine Completed, Twitter Celebrates With Memes

The rapidly rising numbers of coronavirus cases in India and the lack of vaccine have increased our anxiety level. As of now, the country reportedly has over 3,00,000 active cases of Covid-19. But as the novel virus continues to wreak havoc across the globe, Russia had become the first country to successfully complete clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccine on humans, reported News18.

The vaccine trials took place at the Center for Clinical Research on Medications at Sechenov University in Russia. Giving an update on it, the director of the Institute for Translational Medicine and Biotechnology Vadim Tarasov said, “Sechenov University has successfully completed tests on volunteers of the world’s first vaccine against coronavirus,” reports Zee News. Chief researcher Elena Smolyarchuk from the university also said in a report:

“The research has been completed and it proved that the vaccine is safe. The volunteers will be discharged on July 15 and July 20.”

Even though there has been no information on when this vaccine would be made available to the general public, people online were relieved to know about this piece of news.

Soon #coronavaccine started trending online as people celebrated the good news with memes.

Well, celebration toh banta hai boss!
