Social media has brought forward new parameters to measure happiness. They are the number of likes, comments, retweets and followers we get. To this end, we spend so much time and energy while clicking pictures. Lighting, angles, filters and captions – each and every aspect is carefully curated for our handles. But in this quest towards ‘perfect’ feeds, have we forgotten what truly matters?
A photo of five lively children is making netizens question the same. The children can be seen pretending to snap a selfie with a slipper. It has sparked a discussion on happiness and the fact that it has nothing to do with material possessions or social media fame. Celebrities and common folk alike are sharing this picture and its message on Twitter. Have a look.
When life gives you lemons…
When life gives you a slipper, take a selfie. https://t.co/8t0LmZak2v

Agreed
What’s great about kid is that they all start their day excited. When you turn 30, I suppose less than 50% are !

Time for a digital detox?
Even though the camera is fake the ‘smiles’ are real 🙂 it’s time we also have Happiness as a Fundamental Right

Attitude is everything
Snapping some moments don't require expensive gadgets… sometimes just a big heart and some genuine smiles can build a priceless memory too.

The reason this photo has struck a chord with the Twitterati is probably because we were all like this once. Albeit very long ago. When the days weren’t spent scrolling but exploring and finding joy in the most inconsequential of things. Let this serve as a reminder for us all that,
“Happiness is an attitude of mind, born of the simple determination to be happy under all outward circumstances.”
