Bengali Groom Arrived At His Wedding On A Road Roller, Says He Wanted To Do Something New

The wedding season is on a roll right now but it’s the same old groom arriving on a horse or a car, the bride in all-red, ‘shaadi waadi’, and done. Sometimes we joke about how (for a change) our groom ghore pe nahin, bike par savaar hoke ayega!

Because that’s just where our “wild” imagination takes us to! Maybe even a well-lit auto, but that’s just it.

However other grooms decide to arrive for their D-Day, they all fall flat right on their nose in front of this man from Nadia, West Bengal, who made an entry on a road roller!

“I wanted to make my wedding day special. There’s nothing new in arriving on a horse or a car. I wanted my entry to be extraordinary”, said Arka.

He mentions how he always wanted to arrive at his wedding in a vintage car, “But I got an old road roller, so we decked it up instead!”

He added, “This old road roller also came for much cheap. So it was good for our pockets as well!”

His wife Arundhati Tarafdar was fascinated by the idea and had no objection to it. Instead, she was impressed by such an inventive idea!

According to sources, a huge crowd had gathered on road to see the spectacle. Unknown people from the crowd greeted the groom as well.

“I had heard somebody else making an entry on a bulldozer. That’s when the idea struck me and I made the decision!” – Arka.

But that’s not all, he also went on a different direction for his reception: “I have decided that no loudspeaker will play at the reception, which is the usual norm on such occasions. Instead, a person will play the flute, moving around the venue,” said Arka.
