Tej Bahadur Yadav, a BSF soldier became the talk of the town overnight when his videos showing the dismal state of food being given to him and his colleagues at his post in Jammu and Kashmir went viral. The entire nation got shocked when they learned that despite giving their everything towards the betterment of the nation, these jawans are not even getting a proper meal.
In an interview with India Today, Tej Bahadur Yadav said that his fellow soldiers were happy that he posted the videos. His superiors, however, urged him to take the videos down.
Yadav also revealed that since his video came to light, he has been transferred from his camp to the headquarters and has been assigned a plumber’s duty. He believes that now that his video has gone viral, the authorities won’t be able to target him.
“I am not afraid of losing my job… I have shown what the reality is at the post. If soldiers [are] benefitted because of me, then I am ready to fight.”
He also added that a lot will be revealed once an enquiry is carried out in the matter.
He also told that he raised concerns over the condition of the food being served with his senior officer who did nothing else than expressing his own helplessness.
Yadav claims that the corrupt senior officers sell off the ration meant for the unit and pocket the money themselves. He says that it is not the government but these officers who are actually responsible for this.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju tweeted that the interests of the soldiers is their utmost priority.
Welfare of our Security Forces guarding the borders & other difficult areas are absolute priority. Any anomaly will be dealt with firmly. https://t.co/oB3Ku9BKcO

Although the complete story will only unfold once the investigation is complete but this incident is sure an eye-opener for the entire nation.
