Anurag Kashyap Lashed Out On Twitter After Censor Board Demanded 89 Cuts From Udta Punjab!

On March 28, 2016 Anurag Kashyap expressed his hope and faith in the CBFC regarding the ban on Udta Punjab, saying that it is still under scrutiny and spreading rumors of ban at this stage is not responsible.

Now, however, Kashyap seems to have lost the confidence he had on CBFC after 89 cuts were demanded off the movie along with the omission of “Punjab” from the entire film which includes the title as well.

Kashyap’s disappointment with the censor board was prominent in his sarcastic tweet posted last night where he compared India to the fascist North Korea.

While Anurag Kashyap maintains that Udta Punjab is a socially conscious and responsible cinema rather than what it is being projected as, the rest of film fraternity along with media personalities and writers have also taken to Twitter in his support.

While CBFC faces the sarcastic wrath of the Twitter universe, the fate of what seems to be a promising cinema still remains unknown.
