I know even you’re curious to know that how a pizza could save someone’s life. But, it did!
A 48-year-old resident of Salem, Kirk Alexander, used to order from Domino’s Pizza almost every day for 10 years.
He ordered the pizza online and his order used to pop up every day on the screen. It was a usual routine for the employees and as soon as they noticed his order being placed, they went like – ‘Oh! Kirk’s order!‘
But one fine day, the employees noticed that Kirk hadn’t placed an order for 11 days. Surprised, they decided to check his account.
The employees thought that something wasn’t right as it was very unusual of Kirk.
Sarah Fuller, the general manager for Domino’s, sent pizza deliverer, Tracey Hamblen, to Kirk’s house to check on him and see if everything was all right.
Tracey knew Kirk’s address as they have been delivering pizza to him for 10 years.
She rang the doorbell, but no one answered the call. She also heard sounds of TV and could see the lights were on. She called 911 immediately.
When help arrived, paramedics found out that Kirk had suffered a stroke. It was not clear when that had happened, though.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office publicly thanked Hamblen for his quick thinking.
Sarah Fuller didn’t expect something like this to happen, but she shared the whole experience.
He is just an important customer that’s part of our family here at Domino’s. He orders all the time, so we know him. I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something.
Kirk has been admitted to the hospital and he is in a stable condition right now.
