Wawrinka Called Federer An ‘A**hole’ Live On TV And Roger’s Reaction is Pure GOLD!

Tennis has become too much of a gentleman’s game today.

Players are too polite. They admire their counterparts too much and give each other too much, for it to be genuine. Gone are the days when tennis rivalries were explosive and players said what was in their mind.

But all is not lost. Stanislas Wawrinka is genuine enough to speak his mind in public regardless of caring what people might think. He is a good friend of Roger Federer too.

And that’s why he could straight up call Roger Federer an ‘asshole’ during the presentation ceremony at Indian Wells, a few days ago. He had lost the final to Federer and was very emotional, almost on the verge of tears. And that’s when he spotted Roger laughing –

 

And guess what his good friend’s reaction to that was. Yup, like a good sport, he laughed his heart out at Wawrinka’s observation.

 

Wawrinka quickly explained how he loves the tough games they play with each other. He also said how he believes that Federer can become the No. 1 in tennis again.

Stanislas Wawrinka and Roger Federer go back a long way. They have been steadfast friends for almost a decade now and have even won an Olympic Gold Medal together.

This friendly banter between them just shows that their friendship really transcends social niceness in front of a crowd.
