2 Teachers And Principal Gave Alcohol To 20 Students Who Asked For Water On A School Trip

The education system in India has been a matter of discussion on many occasions. Sometimes for the syllabus, sometimes for the exams, and most times for ways of evaluating students or failing to do so rightly.

But what do we do or discuss when the people who are entrusted with managing an educational institute betray the trust put in them? When they falter from carrying out their responsibility and instead, cause more damage than doing good?

In a shocking incident that took place in a government school in Koratagere Taluk of Karnataka, the headmaster of the school and two teachers served alcohol to 20 thirsty students.

The incident occurred when the school authorities were on their way back with the children who had been for an excursion. The students got thirsty and requested for water, which is when the teachers gave them a bottle with alcohol mixed in it.

As shared in the video, some of the students were feeling giddy while some even threw up. Needless to say, their health was put at risk.

According to the report, the teachers and the headmaster have been suspended and an inquiry has been set in motion. However, what is appalling is the fact that these teachers were engaging in alcohol consumptions on a school authorised excursion.

The parents trust teachers to impart good values and stress the importance of refraining from substance abuse of any kind. Sadly, the current scenario with all the rape cases and this instance do not restore any faith in the institution.
