It was quite a day when the announcement was made that Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath would be the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Social media was divided into two camps — one who was supporting the call by BJP and other who were trashing the decision.
Jumping on the trashing bandwagon was Farah Khan’s filmmaker-producer husband, Shirish Kunder.
In a couple of tweets, which he’s now deleted, Kunder wrote,
“Hoping a goon will stop rioting once he’s allowed to rule is like expecting a rapist to stop raping once he’s allowed to rape”.
“Going by the logic of making a goon as CM so that he behaves, Dawood can be CBI director. And Mallya – RBI Governor.”
He, then, got trashed for calling new CM a goon by Twitterati. Following which, he deleted his tweets.
FIR was registered against Kunder; under Section 66 of Information Technology Act, 2008; by Amit Kumar Tiwari, secretary of Thakurdwara Trust, Sita Rasoi, Ramkot of Ayodhya.
This made Shirish publically apologise on Twitter.
This is not the first time Shirish’s tweets have caught attention or got him in trouble. In fact, people at times either praise his satirical comments or trash them.
