‘Newton’ Is India’s Entry For Oscars And Rajkummar Rao Is Getting All The Love He Deserves

Rajkummar Rao is a character chameleon and with each role he does, we fall in love with him a little bit more. The talented star’s dedication is incomparable and we are thoroughly delighted with each of his performance. After wowing all by being Trapped, and sharing that sweet piece of Bareilly Ki Barfi with his fans, Rajkummar is back with another promising portrayal in Amit V Masurkar’s Newton.

The film hit the screens today and shortly after that Rajkummar shared with all a news that makes us immensely proud. Newton is India’s official entry for Oscars 2018.

It was selected out of 26 films and the choice is said to be unanimous.

Film’s director, Amit V Masurkar, told Times of India how it’s a great honour for them to represent India at the Academy.

“It’s a great honour for us to represent India at the Oscars. We hope this film will bring attention to the need to strengthen democracy in our country. The film is in theatres at the moment and this announcement will help us reach out to a larger audience.”

The actor has garnered praises from the critics and as soon as the news broke, the inter-web was lit with reactions. Not only celebrities but even the Twitterati was elated with the piece of news.
