This Uttarakhand Tribe Marries Its Dead Children By Getting Dolls Married. Creepy, Right?

Weddings are supposed to be all about happiness and celebration. In fact, weddings in India are especially a big deal with the band-baaja-baraat scene.

But a tribe in Uttarakhand, called the Netbadi tribe have probably one of the weirdest marriage rituals – they marry dolls to mark the 18th anniversary of their child’s death.

The parents of the dead children get together as per tradition and set dolls for marriage in place of the dead children.

The tribe believes that if a child dies young and is not married at his or her 18th death anniversary, then it doesn’t allow their souls to rest in peace and brings them hardships in their after-life and for the living family as well.
