From booking a cab to shopping for clothes and ordering food, every chore can be completed by the touch of a button, the only thing you need is a good internet connectivity. Now we don’t know about Delhi, but Mumbai citizens have a reason to rejoice.

CM Fadnavis took to Twitter to give the good news to people.

The government plans to activate another 700 free WiFi spots in the city by the 1st of May which is celebrated as Maharashtra day in the western state.

The government is using state-run MTNL network and system integration from Larsen & Toubro to provide internet service. In the trial phase between January 1 and 8, about 23,000 people signed up for the service and downloaded about 2 TB of data.

The Chief Minister also assured people that the government will keep monitoring the progress to ensure better connectivity and network speed.

CM Fadnavis also provided a link for Mumbaikars to find their nearest WiFi hotspot locations.

With the nation moving forward towards a cashless future, this is certainly a welcome move by the Maharashtra government. A few other state governments and local bodies too are providing free WiFi in various cities across the nation and we hope that the remaining states and cities will follow suit too.
