Out of all the seasons that mother nature bestows upon us, the monsoon is my favourite! Pardon my poor poetry but I’m certain- there is nothing vain about the dripping rain. And don’t even get me started about petrichor (the scent of earth, after it rains).
Yes, I am aware of the present day drudgery that spares us very little opportunity to rejoice downpours but life, like they say, is what you make of it. Amirite?
So, while it is still in our hands, why not make some memories? Why not make some unforgettable ones with the special one? Uhh aahha ahh, not indoors but outside, braving enjoying the rain!Â
So, here’s a list of things you could do with your S.O. in the monsoon instead of getting holed up in the house. Go nuts!
1. Travel miles just to drink chai at the tapri.
Not that you need a reason to have that cutting chai but having it with your beloved, in the rain, makes it even more special!
2. Long drive whilst getting high on rain songs!
Listening to rain songs are probably the best thing that you can do to yourself and your ears. Cancel out the noise of the traffic, the chaos of the world and trip on your favourite rain song. *listens to Tip Tip Barsa Paani*
3. Walk, hand in hand/arms in arms, by the beach.
Need I say more? SIGGHHHhhhhhhhhh…
4. Stop at a signal to share a bhutta.
Baatne se pyaar badhta hai, pagle!
5. Romantic/Bollywood buffs can re-create their favourite movie scene.
You know what is better than role-playing? Role-playing in the rain! While there are umpteen choices, this particular scene is my #UltimateGoal. It has King of Romance, SRK after all!
6. Summon the photographer in you. Click lots and LOTS of pictures together!
Ask somebody to click fake-candids or better, click a dozen of selfies (not just for social media show off)! Just don’t forget to get your waterproof case for the camera!
7. Go check out that new hang-out place nearby!
Rain, bae and some concoctions! What more can one ask for?
8. Break the monotony. Go out dancing in the middle of the road!
Yes, you heard me right! When was the last thing you did something crazy with bae? Seize the day, my friend. Seize the day!
9. Play a sport, will ya?
Want to spice it up a little? This is the deal-maker, fellas!
10. Go buy him/her those goloshes/raincoats because he/she just ‘can not find the time’.
If you’re past the ‘honeymoon phase’ in your relationship, you’ll know what I mean. Old-school charm and bucket loads of love; works like a charm! 😉
