WINTER IS HERE.
I don’t think there is any other way to say this but cyber-criminals have broken into the networks of HBO and reportedly leaked unreleased episodes of a number of shows, including your favourite and mine, ‘Game Of Thrones.’
According to Entertainment Weekly, upcoming episodes of a couple of series and at least one alleged script or treatment have been put online by hackers who hacked the HBO systems.
In a statement, HBO confirmed the breach of privacy and assured that the investigation will take proper route.
The cyber criminals have apparently obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from the company. Reports suggest upcoming episode of ‘Ballers’ and ‘Room 104’ have reportedly been put online. There is also written material (cue: script) that’s allegedly from next week’s fourth episode of GoT.
The hackers have also promised more of such stuff ‘coming soon.’
While HBO did not disclose what information was stolen, hackers allegedly sent an anonymous email to the media flaunting about their trick and how ‘HBO is falling.’
“Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh, I forget to tell. It’s HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!!
Following the leak, HBO chairman and CEO, Richard Plepler, sent an email to HBO employees where he addressed the issue.
And you were worried about coming across spoilers! SIGH.
