But, as every coin has two sides, these perks come with a total breach in the personal space and many a times celebs land up in irksome situations.
Weeks after putting slut-shaming trolls in their place with a powerful post, one of Bollywood’s newest talents, Disha Patani had to deal with an unpleasant situation recently when she visited Delhi for a brand shoot.
A man claiming to be a fan of Disha Patani stalked from her for two days from her hotel to malls and theatres around the city during her Delhi visit. He even picked up a fight with the hotel staff when they didn’t allow him to meet her.
Thanks to the prompt action of the manager, the man was thrown out of the premises by the hotel bouncers.
Feeling threatened by the actions of the fan, Disha took a sigh of relief after the matter got over.
“I am relieved that the episode is over. I am deeply overwhelmed by the love of fans. When I got to know about it, I was in for a shock. It was an unpleasant experience.”
While she didn’t call the cops on the stalker so that the matter doesn’t blow out of proportion, Disha has now decided to keep a bodyguard with her at all times.Â
There is a fine line between being a fan and being a fanatic and we all need to learn to be on the right side of it. Respecting the personal space of every individual is very important before we call ourselves members a progressive society.
