This Artist Portrays Anxiety And Its Symptoms Through A Comic Illustration & It’s Perfect!

Anxiety is a silent epidemic that plagues us for most of the times in our life. Almost everyone has been a victim to this problem. And when it happens, it can drive a wedge through the victim’s heart. We have this unconscious assumption that if we ‘worry enough’, we can stop undesirable things from happening in our lives. When worrying becomes excessive, it can lead to anxiety. When worried or anxious, our mind and body go into a state of ‘fight or flight’ as we constantly focus on ‘what could happen’.

The artist, Beth Evans, has come up with an interesting comic illustration on how to tackle anxiety and how it overpowers us. She says,”Anxiety is a bit of a chameleon. Sometimes it’s huge and overbearing, and sometimes it’s this annoying little creature that follows me around.”

These comic illustrations are a welcome portrayal because anxiety is often subject to judgment and stigma.

You’re not going to die. Here’s the truth: If you go bankrupt, you’ll still be okay. If you lose the gig, the lover, the house, you’ll still be okay. If you sing off-key, get beat by the competition, have your heart shattered, get fired…it’s not going to kill you. Ask anyone who’s been through it! So, relax.
