“I Don’t Take The Government Seriously,” Says Abhay Deol When Asked About The Ban On Pak Actors

Abhay Deol is one of those few actors from whom we expect honesty and logic. He has proved himself as an actor with every project he has been on like ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Raanjhanaa’, ‘Dev.D’ etc. He comes across as one of the “intelligent actors”, as they say.

At the MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai, Abhay Deol was asked what was his reaction to Pakistani artists being banned by the IMPPA and people opposing the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He had some very curt words to say.

“When you do half a job, no one is going to take you seriously. I don’t take the government seriously. Right now it’s not looking like you mean it, it just looks like it gets you a lot of publicity and makes noise.”

Twitter, as usual, went into a frenzy and a lot of people lauded Abhay for his words.

Everything is so far away from the real issue now. Only logic can save us.

Do you think he was right?
