Twitter Is Exploding With Hilarity As #YoAurangzebSoNoble Is Trending In India

Aurangzeb was a tyrannical ruler. He was the last prominent ruler of the Mughal Empire and was known for his ruthlessness, cunning and evil. However, a recent article by the Huffington Post sought to showcase a different side of the ruler, a human side. It urged readers to look at the ruler’s actions from a different lens. It asked to stop holding him to the high moral considerations of the post-modern era.

Well, based on what we’ve been taught in our history classes in school, Aurangzeb was a tyrant. However, a lot of history has only been written from a single perspective. Maybe there is another side to this story that needs to be told. Do I think Aurangzeb was a nice guy? Certainly not. But do I think there’s more to his story than we were taught? Definitely.
