India played exceptionally well during the entire series of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. If you were following the game, you would know how easily India won against Pakistan in its first game of the series on 4th June 2017. After that, when we landed in finals against the same team, the confidence of not only the entire team, but the whole nation was pretty strong.
It’s great to stay confident, but it’s dangerous to underestimate the opponent. I think that’s where we went wrong.
Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, Mr. Anand Mahindra, tweeted a very insightful thought this morning which has given us a lot to think about.
Monday morning reflection: The Pak team had the spirit of a Start-up company. They just didn’t know what was impossible…

Sometimes for companies as well as sports teams, great success is the greatest threat. Brings a disease called the ‘Myth of Invincibility’

Isn’t that a beautiful analogy? In my opinion, it makes perfect sense because, in some way, the prior success did make us feel invincible for some time. But, like a wise woman once said, it’s not a failure if you have enjoyed the process.
Hope our team learned something valuable from the whole experience. And last but not the least, many congratulations to the Pakistan Cricket Team, for they played exceptionally well.
When you have nothing left to lose, you only have everything left to gain.
Thank-you Mr. Mahindra, for the much needed Monday motivation.
