Welder’s Son From IIT-Kharagpur Gets ₹ 1.02 Crore Job Offer From Microsoft

Vatsalya Singh Chauhan, 21, hailing from Sanhouli village in Khagariya region, Bihar, has bagged a dream job offer from Silicon Valley giants Microsoft Corporation. Chauhan is a final year student, pursuing a Bachelor in Technology degree in Computer Science from IIT-Kharagpur.

But what is the big deal about this? He is the son of a welder

Vatsalya is the eldest among six siblings. Chandrakant Chauhan, his father, is a welder, and had procured an education loan worth Rs. 3.5 Lakhs for his son to fulfil his dream. Vatsalya wanted to study engineering in IIT after he achieved 75% in his Class 12 examinations.

 

Kota was the turning point

The Allen Career Coaching Institute in Kota is one of the biggest and most reputed coaching institutes for IIT aspirants in Kota. Vatsalya enrolled there in 2011 to give shape to his goal, and sure enough, bagged an All India Rank of 382 in his IIT JEE entrance exams.

Vatsalya received a job offer from Microsoft during the final year campus placements. The salary on the offer is a massive Rs. 1.02 Crore per annum. His father was finding it difficult to make a living for the entire family due to his limited earnings. On hearing the news on the phone, he was overjoyed that his son has made it.

 

Dreams have no cost and no limit, and especially not in our country.

Vatsalya has put yet another stamp on it. His younger brother is gearing up for IIT-Delhi and his younger sister, for her medical entrance exams, again from Allen in Kota.
