Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s love affair in the early 2000s remains as one of the most popular and controversial stories in the history of Bollywood. A relationship that sprang from the sets of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ did not see a happy ending with the entry of Vivek Oberoi, a third individual in the frame.
The entire episode led to a massive dispute between Salman and Vivek which ultimately resulted in the downfall of the latter’s career.
However, while the triangle is a matter of the past, we have a fresh controversy now. Thanks to Vivek Oberoi.
With the exit polls of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections going on, Vivek took to Twitter to share a meme. Comparing Salman and Aishwarya’s relationship to the exit poll results, the 42-year-old actor shared a picture which showed that the actress ultimately married Abhishek after having affairs with Salman and himself.
Some People never grow up in life …This guy never knew how to respect a woman, and don't think he will ever learn to… Once a loser , always a loser @vivekoberoi #VivekOberoi pic.twitter.com/n6QVQsZgDU

Vivek’s act drew tremendous flak on the micro-blogging site with celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar lashing out at him.
Disgusting and classless. https://t.co/GUB7K6dAY8

Very disgraceful and in extreme bad taste of #VivekOberoi to put up such a disrespectful post. At least show the decency to pull off the post if not apologise to the lady and her little girl.

Cheap joke. In very bad taste Vivek, especially dragging a child in to this

Surprisingly, the actor who will be seen playing the role of ‘Narendra Modi’ in the Prime Minister’s biopic, still couldn’t find his fault. While he said that he has no problem in apologizing, he mentioned that he just laughed a humorous joke.
“People are saying apologise, I have no problem in apologising, but tell me what wrong have I done? If I have done something wrong I will apologise. I don’t think I have done anything wrong. What’s wrong in it? Somebody tweeted a meme and I laughed at it.”

But as they say, its better late than never. Vivek finally realized his mistake and came up with an apology for his action. He even deleted his tweet.
Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.

Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies🙏🏻 tweet deleted.

Though it was absolutely coarse on behalf of the actor we appreciate the fact that he came up with an unconditional apology. Apology accepted, Vivek.
