Cut to, Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s home in Gurugram where his staff wastes gallons of ‘drinking water’ to wash his luxury cars!

You can easily analyze the seriousness of the issue, can’t you?

But seems like beloved Indian Cricket team captain doesn’t! What is worse is Gurugram Municipal Corporation has fined Virat Kohli with a challan of just Rs 500 for the violation. This happened after his staff was caught wasting liters of drinking water for washing his cars at his Gurugram residence in DLF Phase 1.

According to reports, water wastage at Kohli’s residence was reported earlier as well. Neighbors had complained about Kohli’s staff wasting 1000 liters of drinking water in washing his 6 cars, which also include 2 SUVs. 10 other houses in the same area were also fined for wasting water.

According to Yashpal Yadav, Commissioner, Gurugram’s Municipal Corporation, in order to prevent the use of drinking water for other uses, the Municipal Corporation started keeping a check on the use of water in their area.

The flying squad checked the locality where Virat Kohli stays and a lot of people were found washing their cars with drinking water. Kohli’s staff was caught doing the same by the officers.

Though we appreciate the municipal corporation for carrying out their duties effectively, the fine amount has certainly got us worried! Just Rs 500 for wasting gallons of drinking water? Rs 500 is a very small amount to get away with wasting so much water, at a situation where half of the country is suffering from a severe water crisis.

We wonder if the staff was just following Virat’s instructions or if Kohli was unaware of their transgression.

Don’t you agree that the act demands a fitting fine? We hope Kohli’s staff understands the crucial issue of water wastage and does not repeat such blunders again!
