We shoot numerous videos on our smartphones every day. And even with hard disks and cloud backup, we never seem to enough space to store them all. But do you guys remember how they were stored in the past? On video cassettes/tapes. These required a VCR player to watch. Remember those?
Most of us don’t have them anymore. We’ve either discarded them or given them away. Just like a Reddit user named @MarshmallowMatt did. He sold his VHS player to an 86-year-old on eBay. But what he wasn’t expecting was the sweetest thank you letter in response. He was so touched by it that he shared a picture on this Reddit thread.
“It’s gonna find a nice home over my desk where I do my listings!” he said.
People found it absolutely heartwarming. The fact that the buyer had signed the letter and sent it via mail had them on a nostalgia trip. There were a lot of suggestions to send the buyer a reply (in the form of a letter, of course) and help digitise the old videos. Here are some of the reactions to the thread.
When was the last time you received a letter from someone? Not the ones from banks or other official correspondence. But an actual heartfelt note from a stranger? I haven’t but would love to hear your story.
