Yesterday, the last rites of the ‘Nightingale of India’, Lata Mangeshkar, took place with complete state honours. The entire nation was mourning this huge loss, hundreds of fans offered their condolences, her songs were constantly being played on the radio, and celebrities, politicians, sportspersons, etc. paid their last respects. Among them was the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan.
Shahrukh Khan was seen raising his hands in dua and later blowing out air from his mouth. Blowing out air is a part of the prayer for the departed soul in Islam, reports Hindustan Times. However, a few people speculated that SRK had spit on Lata Ji’s mortal remains and they began spreading hate against the actor.

“As a society, we have deteriorated so much that we think praying is spitting. You are talking about an actor who has represented the country on various international platforms. Politics has reached such low levels and it’s really sad,” HT quoted her saying.
Several fans online also showered their support on the actor and explained to people the religious ritual of dua.
Shah Rukh Khan reading a dua and blowing on Lata ji’s mortal remains for protection and blessings in the next life. Cannot comprehend the level of bitterness of those saying he is spitting. pic.twitter.com/JkCTcesl86

No SRK didn't spit but you guys are as usual spitting venom.

Those spitting hatred can obviously not see a difference between praying and spitting.

A touching gesture of blowing a dua (prayer) by SRK deliberately being misinterpreted as spitting.
Ignorance and malice. The largest statue of equality can’t help this deliberate hate. https://t.co/8ZZllqlBw5— Gargi Rawat (@GargiRawat) February 6, 2022
