How A UP Man & An Indonesian Woman Fell In Love, Got Married Because Of The English Language

Just yesterday we came across a unique love story about a 50-year-old bus driver who fell in love with his 24-year-old female passenger.

Now, we’re about to tell you about the tale of a man from Uttar Pradesh and a woman from Indonesia who became life partners thanks to the English language.

The man Sanwar Ali, hailing from UP’s Deoria district, met the woman named Miftahul Jannah back in 2015. Luckily, Ali was learning English when Jannah sent him a friend request on Facebook. And while learning the language that helped the couple communicate, both of them got closer to each other, reported News18.

But they realized that there was more than just friendship between them when southern India was hit by a cyclone in 2017. The concerned Jannah would continuously be in touch with Ali knowing about his and his family’s well-being.

Later Ali confessed his love to Jannah. However, she took around six months to respond with a ‘YES’. Soon after, in 2018, Ali went to Indonesia for the first time to meet the love of his life. That’s when they decided to get married.

It wasn’t an uphill task for both of them to convince their families as they practiced the same religion. After giving this good news to his family, Ali again visited Indonesia in 2019 and both of them got engaged.

They were planning to get married soon but that’s when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and broke their dreams. After going through the painful pandemic and the unbearable long-distance relationship, Ali and Jannah finally tied the knot on October 29 this year in Indonesia.

They also hosted a wedding reception at Ali’s ancestral home at Narayanpur village in Rudrapur tehsil of Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh.

Clearly, language which is often considered a barrier proved to be a bridge that united these love birds. What a story!
